HersfoldArbClerkBot

HersfoldArbClerkBot (secure) is a bot running on the English Wikipedia that works to manage the length of evidence submissions in cases presented to the Arbitration Committee. The Arbitration Committee, with the assistance of its clerks, enforces a limit of the length of evidence submitted by parties and other users, to ensure that only the most relevant issues are raised within the case and to aid the Arbitrators in reviewing evidence in a timely manner. HersfoldArbClerkBot works by checking the evidence page of each open case. It counts the number of displayed words, diffs, and other links in each section, and adds a template to the top of the section to indicate these counts. If a section is significantly over the limits set by the Committee, the bot will issue a notice to the user who provided the evidence in that section, asking them to reduce the length of their evidence. Each user will only recieve one notice per case; additionally, the bot can be configured to use custom limits for all users in a particular case, a specific user for all cases, or a specific user for a specific case.
