Input is plain math(no TeX): Instructions: Type in normal TeX (this is if the checkbox is unchecked), use $....$ and $$....$$ to enter mathmode. The former is inline, the latter is block and larger.If you do not know TeX, click the checkbox above. Now type math like 1/2+1/(3+4^3), and it will render it by converting to $\LaTeX$.
